Installation for Linux (non-x86), *BSD, HP-UX, AIX, Solaris, etc.

ASM requires a Java 5 virtual machine
Install Sun Java 5 from your distribution
Download the sheltermanager-2.3.5_noarch_unix.tar.gz file from the download area
Unpack the tar.gz to a location on your hard disk and symlink run.sh in the package to /usr/bin/asm with "ln -s run.sh /usr/bin/asm"

You are ready! At a console, type "asm". Hit Ok when prompted to create a local database, then log in with the default user - username "user", password "letmein". The first thing you should do is create user accounts for yourself and your staff under System->Edit System Users.
